That is the short answer. The longer one is why it matters where you buy it, because Hikvision equipment is sold in a lot of places in this city and it is not all the same transaction.
What buying from a distributor actually gets you
Stock, and the right model. A distributor holds a range rather than whatever arrived in the last carton, so the answer to "do you have something that will work here" is not restricted to what is on the shelf today.
A warranty with somebody behind it. Genuine equipment bought through the proper channel has a warranty path. Grey import stock, which is genuine hardware sold into a market it was not intended for, often does not: the warranty belongs to the market it was sold into, and firmware updates can refuse to apply.
Somebody to ask. Choosing between a turret and a bullet, working out whether an existing coaxial run can be reused, sizing a recorder: these are five minute conversations with somebody who fits this equipment every week, and expensive guesses otherwise.
People who install it. We install what we sell, and we survey the site first at no charge. A camera in the wrong position is the most common way a working system fails to be useful.
What to bring, or to tell us
You do not need to arrive knowing the model numbers. It helps if you can say:
- What the site is, roughly. A shop, a warehouse, a yard, a home.
- What you want to be able to see. Faces at the door and number plates at the gate are different jobs and sometimes different cameras.
- Whether there is cabling already in place, and what kind.
- How far back you need to be able to look. A week and two months are very different amounts of storage, and our storage calculator will give you the figure.
If you have none of that, come anyway. Establishing it is what the survey is for.
